Clean, with great staff. About 500 metres walk from Les Rambla (the main hub of Barcelona). The kitchen is relatively small with ok facilities. Internet is Ok - 2 working terminals in the lounge. Rooftop terrace can be fun at night and is a good place to meet people, as is the lounge (no pooltable :( but foosball :) - Again - great staff and overall a decent place to stay.
Excellent hostel. You want a cheap stay, mix dorms, lot of new people to meet from around the world, close to the beach and famous La Rambla street, then this is THE EXACT PLACE FOR YOU.
Barcelona Sound Hostel was awesome. Great location. Reception staff was fabulous, i had to fax some paperwork to Canada and print out boarding passes and they were so helpful. Would stay at Sound Hostel again in a heartbeat. Breakfast closes at 10am which somewhat makes you jump outta bed too early for coffee but was a perfect stay. We actually stayed an extra night than planned.
Fantastic hostel in Barcelona. Very friendly and informative staff, ideal location (5mins from Ramblas, 2mins from metro) Exceptionally clean, great security (nice large keycard lockers) Highly recommended. Also, I read reviews before arriving saying that the area was scary, well I felt very safe considering it is directly across the street from a police station!

The Sound hostel was a very nice hostel located in a great area almost 1 minute from Para.llel metro station. They have a community kitchen, lounge with three internet computers, wifi, a large TV. The rooms had security lockers with a nice key card system that keeps your belongings safe. [ + ]
